Back to our beautiful home of St George’s Church, back welcoming new members (and returning members) and back busily rehearsing for our winter concert. And we couldn’t be happier.
Not that the Rainbow Chorus went away over the last 18 months. As ever, singing led by Aneesa and accompanied by Monti continued – over Zoom, of course. There were our usual Monday rehearsals and RC+ monthly sessions as well as extra sessions for anyone feeling particularly isolated. Zoom technology also allowed us to come together socially for our Friday-evening virtual pub ‘The Rainbows Return’ (which also inspired the name of our upcoming Christmas concert!), a space where we could chat, laugh, moan, quiz and generally feel connected through these strange times. Because the Rainbow Chorus (and its little sibling RC Plus) is much more than a singing group. It’s also a community, a family, a safe space where any member of the LGBTQ+ community can feel supported, listened to or just be.
Now we are into the winter term and the next major event in the calendar is our Christmas concert! Join the Rainbow Chorus as we celebrate the ‘Rainbows Return’ to St George’s in style! A fun evening of familiar, new & festive songs, hosted by our amazing Musical Director Aneesa Chaudhry, Pianist Mojca Monte Amali and BSL interpreter Marco Nardi. Mulled wine, mince pies & more and, of course our famous Rainbow festive Hamper raffle. Saturday 11th December 2021. 7.30pm (doors open 6.30pm), St George’s Kemptown. Tickets £15, Concessions £10, Kids under 12 £7
